Shoeboxes are packed with tons of items that disadvantaged kids all over the world have probably never had.Operation Christmas Child (OCC) is formatted a little differently this year. For the last few years, we requested donations for the shoeboxes followed by a packing party to fill those boxes. This year, we’re taking a step back in time to around 2012, when folks shopped and packed their own shoeboxes. By doing so, families will again enjoy the experience of putting their hearts into each box, just like packing for a loved one.
Although we had a large number of Samaritan’s Purse shoeboxes to be handed out at the church, all of them have now been claimed! If you would like to participate, please fill and return your own shoebox. If you can, please wrap the box and the top separately with Christmas wrapping paper.
There are specific items that you may or may not include in the boxes. Please CLICK HERE for packing instructions. Please decide whether your box is for a boy or girl and the age group (2-4, 5-9; 10-14); then print the appropriate label below and attach to box.
Each shoebox costs $9 to ship, so we are also requesting monetary donations to cover shipping. Please mark your check “OCC shipping” and turn in to the church office. If you pay your shipping online, print the barcode and attach it to the box. We will be getting together on Sunday, October 22, in Fellowship Hall for lunch and a SHIPPING PARTY! Bring your family, friends and neighbors! The Student Ministry will be offering pizza for a love donation; all proceeds to go toward shipping costs.
