We are a Christ-centered ministry that teaches children the Word of God is true and relevant to them. We strive to show God’s love by loving His children. At TLC, we use the Orange® curriculum from the ReThink Group. With Orange®, we combine the two primary influences that impact a kid’s life: the yellow light of the church and the red heart of the family.
On average, we’ll get about 40 hours per year with your kids. In that short amount of time, we want to help them experience a Heavenly Father who loves them unconditionally, change how they see their world and their future, as well as connect them with a leader who believes in their potential. That’s why, every Sunday, your child will experience both large group teaching & worship as well as interactive small groups with adult leaders they can trust.
We partner with families to empower and support parents in their role as spiritual leaders by providing relevant resources. This includes take-home discussion guides, books and classes specific to the needs of parents with young children. We offer family events to encourage friendships and support systems as well as monthly nights out to give parents the opportunity to relax without children. TLC Children’s Ministry is passionate about instilling the love of Christ into the hearts and minds of children and their families.
Kidz Inc. is our elementary program for children in Kindergarten – 3rd grade. Kids spend the first half of the service in Large Group Worship & Teaching then break into small groups based on their grades: Kinder/1st Grade and 2nd/3rd Grade. The Orange 252 Basics® curriculum provokes discovery in the heart of a child and is designed to shape identity through planting these truths in the heart of every elementary-age child: • I need to make the wise choice. (Wisdom) • I can trust God no matter what. (Faith) • I should treat others the way I want to be treated. (Friendship).
The story of God reveals the character of God. Our Large Group teaching is organized around key Bible stories that help kids discover Jesus and reflect His character to the world around them. Every month presents a new Life App to help children discover more about God’s character and a Memory Verse to help them discover God’s Word. Each week, we explore a different Bottom Line—a short phrase so easy to remember that it can be reinforced at home throughout the week.
AdventureLand is for children 2 through 5-year-olds, not yet in Kindergarten. Our Toddler Room is for children 2 & 3 years old and our Pre-K Room is for those 4 & 5 years old (not yet in Kinder). The Orange First Look® Curriculum is designed so each child growing up will believe: (1) God Loves Me, (2) God Made Me and (3) Jesus wants to be my forever friend.
We keep it simple and fun, repeating one basic truth about God each month. This includes a key question/answer as well a monthly memory verse. During each service, children experience an opening activity (Make It Fun), a bible story told by their teacher and shown on DVD (Make it True) and a hands-on activity reinforcing the bottom line of that week (Make It Stick).
Club 45 is our program specifically designed 4th and 5th graders. As with Kidz Inc, these kids spend the first half of service in Large Group Worship & Teaching, then break into their own small group. Small group leaders provoke discovery and invite kids to a new understanding of how to grow in relationship with Jesus. Small groups are designed to shape identity through planting these truths in the heart of every child: (1) I need to make the wise Choice, (2) I can trust God, no matter what, and (3) I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

DivorceCare4Kids is a 13-week program to help children ages 5-12 heal from the hurt caused by the separation or divorce of their parents. At our weekly DC4K group, kids make friends with other kids who understand how they feel and the things they are going through because of their divorce of their parents. This group meets Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30. A new series will begin September 11, 2018.
Best of all, children will learn how God’s love can strengthen them and help turn tears to hope and joy! We combine games, crafts, activities, music and DVD dramas to create a fun atmosphere where children feel comfortable and accepted. DC4K follows the same schedule as the adult DivorceCare program, allowing parents and children to progress through the healing process together and providing a springboard for meaningful discussions.
