Crown’s History:

Crown Financial Ministries was founded by Larry Burkett in 1976.

For over 40 years, Crown Financial Ministries has pioneered the modern-day biblical stewardship movement that has touched more than 50 million people around the world. What began as a small Bible study led by the late founder, Larry Burkett, in his hometown of Gainesville, Georgia has grown into a global ministry with resources translated into more than 120 languages in 104 countries over five continents. Through our commitment to sharing biblical financial principles, Crown has inspired two generations of wise stewards to chart a path to true financial freedom and change the world in the process.

What is the Crown Small Group Study:

The Crown Financial Small Group Study is a 10-week in-depth study of what scripture teaches about money and possessions.  Graduates have confirmed that marriages are being strengthened and individuals are finding their way out of debt.  They are also becoming consistent savers, generous givers, and prudent consumers.  Most importantly, people are entering into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ as they learn to apply His Word.  Groups meet for two hours every week and include scripture memorization and interactive discussions.

The lessons are broken up into study modules for each week, along with a practical application workbook and a video for each session.

There are four requirements for students participating in this study:

  1. Daily prayer for each member of your group
  2. Memorize one assigned scripture each week
  3. Complete weekly homework assignments-both Bible study and practical application. (approximately 2 hours of homework per week)
  4. Attend a minimum of 8 of the 10 classes

Purpose of the Study:

  • To help participants grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Increase their knowledge of his financial principals
  • Learn to apply them to their personal financial decisions

Registration cost covers the books and materials for the course. The cost is $40 a person. Scholarships are available. Please don’t let the cost of the course keep you from participating.  E-mail Luke Gordon at to request a scholarship.
