Stephen Ministers Offer God’s Loving Presence

A Stephen Minister is a Lakeway Church member who has completed 50 hours of Christ-centered relationship training and is willing to make a minimum two-year service commitment. Once trained, Stephen Ministers are commissioned to provide quality care to a care receiver for about one hour each week to help in a life challenge or crisis.  Commissioned Stephen Ministers also commit to attending peer supervision and continuing education sessions twice per month.

Training to be a Stephen Minister

The 50-hour training program is a very complete, comprehensive study that prepares each person to become an effective Stephen Minister. We learn to let Christ care for others through our ministry. So, becoming a Stephen Minister is also a faith journey that is challenging and spiritually rewarding.

Stephen Ministry training classes will meet September 5th – November 16th
First and third Tuesdays and EVERY Thursday from 4:00-6:30 PM
Saturdays, Sept. 16 and Oct. 14 from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM
