Wilderness Camp – High School
Current 8th-12th Graders, join Lakeway Church Students for Summer Wilderness Trips!
Kick-off Summer 2023 with a Wilderness Trip Extravaganza– high schoolers will head out west the same week. Wilderness trips are meant to offer our high school students the opportunity to unplug, admire God’s creation, grow in faith, and connect deeper in community. We hope to take students outside of their comfort zone alongside their peers and spiritual mentors. Historically, wilderness trips are on 4 separate weeks. This year, we are focusing our attention on fostering community between grades and will have all 4 groups begin and end together.
We will head to Glorieta Camp in Santa Fe, New Mexico the same week.
Students will spend the first and last nights together at camp but will split up for the middle four nights.
Incoming 9th graders will stay at Glorieta’s campground for hiking and introduce themselves to the wilderness experience.
Incoming 10th graders will head to the Colorado river to kayak.
Incoming 11th graders will stay in Santa Fe for backpacking.
Incoming 12th graders will head to Utah for canyoneering.
This trip is only open to high school students entering 9th through 12th grade (2023-2024 school year).
