We will be driving in the church van to Glorieta, New Mexico and spending the first night there after doing some canyoneering and rappelling training. We will leave the following morning to go to the North Wash in Utah. We will be car camping (meaning no carrying big packs and we leave all our stuff with the vans) at a campsite with nearby toilets. We will leave each morning and park near the base of a different canyon. Canyoneering involves hiking to the top of slot canyons, rappelling into them, and then working our way down through and out of them by rappelling, down climbing, and hiking.
This trip is open to high school students currently in 11th and 12th grades (2018-19 school year).
The price includes all lodging, transportation, and activities for the week. Students will need to bring money for lunch on the way there and lunch on the way back. They may also want to bring money for snacks on the road or the cafe at Glorieta. All other meals will be provided. Sign up early to get the cheapest price!
