Who We Are
Our Mission: Inviting Everyone to Find and Follow Jesus
Our Vision: The 8 Pursuits of a Flourishing Church
The 8 Pursuits reflect the passion of our hearts and describe who we are becoming as a church and how we live out our mission—inviting everyone to find and follow Jesus.
SCRIPTURE: Rooted in and shaped by God’s Word.
We are grounded in the authority and beauty of Scripture.
The Bible is our foundation, renewing our minds, transforming our hearts, and guiding our steps. It’s the story of God; revealing who He is, His redemptive plan for humanity, ultimately pointing us to Jesus. Scripture fuels our worship, deepens our faith, and equips us to live with conviction and grace in an ever-changing world. Every ministry, initiative, and experience at Lakeway Church is rooted in God’s eternal Word. We teach it faithfully, live it out daily, and allow it to be the standard by which everything else is measured.
2 Timothy 3:16–17, Psalm 119:105, Hebrews 4:12, Matthew 7:24
PRAYER: Dependent on God and empowered by His Spirit.
Prayer is the heartbeat of Lakeway Church.
We pray because we understand our great need for God, and we trust that He will meet us with His power and presence. Before we plan, we pray. Before we act, we listen. Prayer fills every gathering, every home, and every heart – it’s not one ministry among many: it’s the ministry behind them all. Through prayer, we align our will with God’s, seek His wisdom, trust His timing, and believe He can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. We are a praying people who live in step with the Holy Spirit as we continually carry on a conversation with Him. Philippians 4:6–7, Ephesians 6:18, Matthew 6:9–13, 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18
WORSHIP: Joy-Filled, Christ-Centered, and Spirit-Led.
Our worship gatherings are alive with expectancy because we are hungry to encounter God.
When we gather, we celebrate God’s goodness, stand in awe of His holiness, and continually surrender to His transforming grace. We enjoy being in His Presence and we trust the Holy Spirit to guide our time together with purpose and meaning.
Because worship is a heart-language, we offer both traditional and contemporary styles of worship, each expression giving voice to how people uniquely connect with God. Underlying both expressions are values that shape every gathering: beauty that inspires an awe of God, celebration that lifts our hearts to remember His faithfulness, and anthems that give voice to our ultimate hope in Christ. Every generation worships as a response to who God is and what He’s done. With childlike faith and wholehearted praise, we lift our hearts to Christ our King.
John 4:23–24, Psalm 95:1–3, Romans 12:1, Psalm 100:2–4
COMMUNITY: Building meaningful relationships and authentic community as the body of Christ.
We value relationships because God designed the Christian life to be lived in community with one another.
Spiritual growth happens best in genuine, Christ-centered community—where we know one another, share life together, and walk side-by-side in grace and truth. We are a church where friendships form around faith and where every person can say, “These are my people.” In community, we carry one another’s burdens, pray for one another, and celebrate God’s work in each other’s lives. At Lakeway Church, no one stands alone. We are not a crowd; we’re a family of believers who reflect Christ by how we love one another. And as Jesus said, the world will know we belong to Him by the way we live out that love.
Acts 2:42–47, John 13:34–35, Hebrews 10:24–25, Galatians 6:1–2
DISCIPLESHIP: Growing in Christlikeness together.
We define a disciple as someone who is following Jesus, being changed by Jesus, and committed to the mission of Jesus.
At Lakeway Church, everyone is called to discipleship and invited into our Discipleship Pathway where we discover that God is always at work, shaping us into the image of Christ. From new believers to seasoned saints, we practice the Rhythms and Commitments of our Discipleship Pathway that help us to experience the transforming power of the Holy Spirit, and to participate in God’s mission in this world. We believe that discipleship happens best in relationship and the church isn’t a crowd – it’s a family. At Lakeway Church, people of every generation are deeply known, connected, and continually pointing one another toward Christ.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: Multiplying Kingdom influence and gospel expansion.
We are intentional in identifying, equipping, and empowering leaders for missional impact.
At Lakeway Church, leaders do more than fill roles – they also train, equip, and empower others to lead, expanding the capacity of the church from one generation to the next.

GENERATIONS: Equipping every age and every stage to know, love, and follow Jesus.
We want every generation to walk with Jesus, develop resilient faith, and use their gifts for God’s glory.
We believe a flourishing church is one where everyone has a place to grow, and all have a part to play in God’s mission. At Lakeway Church, generations don’t grow apart from one another; they grow with and because of one another. We are one family of faith—discipling, encouraging, and strengthening each other as we follow Jesus together.
