Grateful: Summer Bible Study

Foster a Heart of Gratitude

The Bible shows us that becoming grateful begins with acknowledging how the One who owes us nothing has given us everything. This 4-session study will help us develop a thankful heart that can be cultivated into a continual harvest of gratitude, regardless of the circumstances. Each week, we will look at a profile of someone in the Bible with a grateful heart, find teaching from Scripture on gratefulness, focus on a psalm of thanksgiving, and be encouraged to practice gratitude. We hope you will join us on this journey to cultivating a grateful heart and life!

Week 6 – July 15
Week 7  – July 22
Generosity Night – July 29
Week 9 – August 5
Celebration Night – August 10
Week 10 – August 12

Groups will organize a time outside our normal meeting time to gather for the PRAYER EXPERIENCE between weeks 3 & 4 and the SERVE EXPERIENCE between weeks 6 & 7.

How does ROOTED work?

Groups — Small groups meet weekly on Wednesday evenings at the church from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm. These groups create an encouraging environment to explore what it truly means to follow after Christ and to engage with scripture.

Daily Reading and Reflection — Each participant receives a workbook to guide them through five days of reading and reflection. These weekly readings will help you establish a Bible reading and prayer rhythm.

Prayer, Serve, and Celebration Experiences — Three times during the ten weeks, the group will take extra time to pray, serve, and celebrate together. Each of these experiences is central to a life rooted in Christ and is a beloved part of the ROOTED journey.

To achieve the intended outcome of ROOTED, we ask participants to commit to being present for at least 11 of the 13 total gatherings.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Join the Lakeway Church Prayer Shawl Ministry to create the gift of a “hug” to remind others they are surrounded by prayers and care.

Prayer shawls and lap robes have been made for centuries, offering comfort, warmth, and a tangible reminder of God’s love. Created with prayers and blessings, they console the grieving, comfort the ill, and celebrate life’s milestones. The prayer shawl ministry, started in Hartford, Connecticut by Janet Bristow and Victoria Galo in 1998, combines compassion with knitting, spreading care and solace through these hand-made gifts. The act of giving or receiving a shawl brings an embrace of God’s sheltering presence, with blessings that ripple from person to person.

Mondays – 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Thursdays – 6:00pm to 8:00pm

If you have a love for crafts and community, the Prayer Shawl Ministry may be the place for you.
All are welcome. Beginners to experts. We would love to teach you!
