IF:Gathering - Feb. 8 & 9, 2019

Are you hungry for a faith that is not just BIG, but a faith that is also lived out in your everyday life? Then join us at our upcoming IF:Gathering at Lakeway Church on February 8 & 9, 2019.  Last year IF:Gathering was hosted in 2000+ locations all over the world, and this year Lakeway Church is one of them!
IF:Gathering is a two-day conference (Friday night and Saturday), for women who want to know more about what it looks like to follow God and live out our faith in our relationships, at our jobs, in conflict, in hard times, with money, in, well, in everyday circumstances. We will be looking at one of the most practical (and misunderstood!) books of the Bible—Proverbs. (Now there is a book packed with wisdom for our everyday lives.)
This is going to be an affordable event, because our speakers will be live-streamed in from the main event in Dallas. These speakers are powerhouses: Biblically-based, humorous, nationally-known and humble.
We will also have a LIVE worship team, led by Lizi Bailey, who is a worship leader based in Houston and also a recording artist. Filling out the worship team will be members our Lakeway Church contemporary band. Yes and amen!
ALSO we will have – wait for it – two meals together: Friday night and Saturday morning. Snacks and beverages will be available throughout the event, including (wait for it) homemade cookies. EEEEEP! Yes, you are loved.
Did we say affordable?  Yup.  $40
You can register HERE. This is a Friday night, Saturday morning and afternoon. That’s almost like a retreat, except you get to go home to your own bed! We have amazing speakers, an awesome worship band, great food and some good around-the-table conversations.
You can register now. Our dinner choices have gluten-free and vegetarian options. If you have those dietary boundaries, please don’t miss that part of the registration form.
To see more on what to expect at this incredible event,  visit https://youtu.be/yfdjKCeweXc, and feel free to share!  Registration is open to ladies in our church, community, high schools, neighborhoods, family, etc.

Human Trafficking is CLOSER than you think!

The Women's Ministry of The Lakeway Church is proud to support The Refuge, a place of rest and restoration for child survivors of sex trafficking.  The Refuge for DMST™ (Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking) has a very specific mission: To provide trauma-informed, long-term restoration community with on-site services for girls, minors through age 19, who have been exploited through sex trafficking. As Claire Reed said when interviewed in our services on January 14th, "You have to know what sexual trafficking is all about in order to create awareness."  Awareness is a journey, and thanks for taking it with us. The Refuge is scheduled to open in August 2018 and would like to welcome their first girls into their new sanctuary with a chair for comfort and a Bible for study and inspiration.  Your donation of $150 will provide one chair and one Bible.  Click on THIS LINK to help fund this drive.  Jill Steinle, Hulda Coskey, Beverly Moreland and the Trafficking Committee.
