Middle and High School RALLY NIGHTS

Students gather at the church building on Wednesday evenings for fellowship and fun! The purpose of these gatherings is to cultivate community among our students and encourage their walk with Jesus. Students rally around each other and toward Christ. They begin the night together, and then high school and middle school groups separate for teaching and small groups.

High School Fall Retreat at Camp Buckner

High School students are invited to Camp Buckner for a retreat—a weekend of fun and slowing down to be in awe of God and His creation. Our retreat hopes to have students spend time investing in their relationship with God while building community and making fun memories with one another. Students can enjoy many amenities Camp Buckner offers, such as waterslides, kayaks, hayrides, archery, basketball, volleyball, human foosball, and more!

Parents are the primary faith builders for their children. So 4-5 times a year (5th Sunday of the month), we partner with you as your families to worship together, kids and students may experience the importance of going to “big” church.

Kinder – 12th-Grade worship with their family.

Faith 101 + Retreat

Why Faith 101? Students need space to ask hard questions and wrestle with what they believe. We believe this is part of the process of taking ownership of their faith. Similar to Confirmation programs in other churches, Faith 101 will teach students the basics of the gospel and equip them to follow Jesus in high school and beyond. Faith 101 has large and small-group teaching components through which students will explore Scripture and the foundations of the Christian faith with adult mentors. At the end of this program, students who are ready to affirm their faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior will be celebrated in worship.

Why Parents? Lakeway Church believes families play a critical role in fostering each student’s spiritual growth. We also believe that parents can’t do this alone. Therefore, the Lakeway Church is committed to partnering with families to equip students to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Parents are REQUIRED to attend the first meeting, and they are invited to attend the banquet.

Why Baptism? During Faith 101, there will be an opportunity for those who haven’t been baptized to do so. We believe baptism is a public profession of faith for believers as they enter the Christian community.

Why do we start in 8th grade? We believe that 8th grade is an excellent time for students to explore and affirm their faith before they launch into high school. If your 8th grader is truly resistant, don’t force it. We want students to desire to learn about their faith genuinely and would rather wait to participate in Faith 101 when they are ready. Your support and encouragement of your students’ full participation in Faith 101 is paramount for this program to most fully impact them.

This five-day trip is for High School students to grow in community with one another, go deep into God’s word through discipline from small group leaders, and have fun skiing and snowboarding throughout the week.

Baptism is an important step in a person’s faith journey as you or your kids make a public response to the good news of Jesus Christ. Baptism is also a significant moment in the life of our church as we affirm your faith and welcome you into the family of God. All are invited to gather on the Great Lawn to celebrate those who have chosen to make this step in their faith. Light refreshments will be provided on the patio. You are welcome to bring a blanket or chairs.

Students Summer Camp 2025

Get excited about Summer 2025! This new camp experience for students is all about unity through teamwork, problem-solving, and celebrating victories together. Each day at CONNECT, students will have several themed activities to do on the CONNECT field with their Village (Bible study small group). After Kickstart in the morning, students will go straight to the CONNECT field for activities or their Village Bible study. After they break for lunch and eat, they will do the opposite of what they did in the morning for the afternoon. Our adult leaders will be with students all day, making memories to last a lifetime, teaching the Village Bible Study, and leading them through the Prayer Gathering before Worship at night!

Our prayer is that students will leave camp changed, knowing that they have a responsibility to care for the nations. We will help drive this message home by educating students on two of our ministry partners: Compassion International and Servant Life.

The entire camp is split into two “tribes”: Pack (Wolves/Blue) and Pride (Lions/Red). The two tribes will compete all week to earn points during Kickstart every morning, various tournaments throughout the week, at CONNECT, and during the Get Down (talent show.) Multiple villages will make up these tribes. We will be sure to let you know before camp which tribe our church is in so that you can come prepared with their red or blue gear!

High School Students have an opportunity to go on a mission trip to the Santiago, Dominican Republic area and partner with Casas por Cristo to construct a home from start to finish for a family in need. This is a hands-on trip where every team member participates in the construction from start to finish.

The student small group leader supports the ministry’s mission to engage student’s minds for a relationship with Jesus and lead them toward a life fully devoted to Him by discipling a group of approximately 10 students at our Wednesday night programming, called Rally. Small groups perform the essential functions of a community of believers in Christ: worship, prayer, Bible study, accountability, mission, and fellowship. The small group leader embraces these elements in their own Christian walk.
