Education Connection is a faith-based initiative to improve 3rd-grade literacy and serves under the umbrella of Christ Together Greater Austin. If a student is not reading on a grade level by the end of 3rd grade, they are 4-6 times less likely to graduate from high school. School drop out rates cost Central Texas economy over $460 million annually in social services.
As a Literacy Partner, you will read one-on-one with two students in grades 1 – 3 in Lake Travis ISD for 15 minutes each, once a week.
