South Texas Mission Trip
Mission Trip to Edinburg, Texas
Lakeway Church will send a team of volunteers to Edinburg, Texas, for a short-term mission trip from November 5 to 8 to serve alongside Lakeway-sponsored missionaries Jon and Libby White in South Texas. We will be joining the Rio Grande Bible Institute in a variety of service projects, including landscaping, maintenance, gardening, painting, practicing English with students, and sorting donations.
This trip is best for…
– 12-24 adults who love to serve others.
– ALL, but great for a first-time mission experience.
WHERE: Edinburg is near McAllen in southern Texas. Reynosa, Mexico is on the other side of the border, but we will not be venturing outside the US—No passport is needed!
Accommodations: Holiday Inn Express
Cost: Double occupancy room $450/person // Single occupancy room $600/person.
Food Included in Price: breakfast at hotel, lunch & dinners on/off campus at restaurants.
The Rio Grande Bible Institute (RGBI) is a Christian Bible Institute (Seminary) in Edinburg, TX. The Institute serves students from Mexico, Central America, and South America., It also provides Spanish language training for non-Spanish-speaking North Americans who will serve as missionaries in Spanish-speaking areas of the world. All classes at RGBI are in Spanish. They have a 50-acre campus with 220 students – half in person and half online. RGBI also has four radio stations with signals that reach over 3 million people in two countries.
Sacrificial outreach is one of the marks of Lakeway church. We believe every follower of Jesus is called to love and serve others in Jesus’ name. Stepping out in faith to serve others will have a transformational impact on your life. Not only will we be helping families in Edinburg, but we will be deepening relationships with each other.
