6th Grade Back To School Lock-In

Calling all incoming 6th graders! Start the school year with a night full of fun, friendship, games, food, and unforgettable memories at the 6th Grade Back To School Lock-In at Lakeway Church.

This special event is designed just for 6th graders — giving students a chance to connect with one another, meet leaders, and kick off the new school year in a safe, welcoming environment where they can feel known and encouraged.

Students will be dropped off Saturday evening and stay all night at the church before being picked up Sunday morning.

Blessing of the Backpacks

Hey families!
Grab those backpacks, lunch boxes, tote bags—or whatever your kids carry into the school year—and join us for a special Blessing of the Backpacks during worship! We’ll pray over students, teachers, and families as they head into a brand-new school year with courage, kindness, and maybe even sharpened pencils.

For Kids Ministry Families:
Check in your kids (K–5th) 10 minutes early and drop them off with their leaders. We’ll walk them into the Sanctuary together.

Running a little late? No worries—they can join you in the Sanctuary or wait with us in the Large Group Room.

Let’s kick off the school year with faith, fun, and a little holy encouragement in those backpacks!

Rally Kickoff | August 19

Middle & High School Students

School is back, and so are Rally Nights!

Join us for our Rally Kickoff as we launch a new year of Wednesday nights together. Rally Nights are a place where middle and high school students can build friendships, have fun, and grow in their faith alongside caring leaders and peers.

Throughout the school year, students gather each Wednesday from 6:30–8:00 PM at Lakeway Church to connect, laugh, and encourage one another as they follow Jesus. Students begin the evening together before splitting into middle school and high school groups for teaching and small group discussions designed for their stage of life.

At Rally, students rally around one another and toward Christ. Whether your student has been coming for years or is joining us for the first time, they’ll find a welcoming community where they are seen, known, and encouraged in their walk with Jesus.

Family Worship Sunday

Aug 30 is Family Worship Sunday, the 5th Sunday of the month. Kids and Students are invited to join the 9:30 or 11:00 am services in the Worship Center. We hope this will be a fun way to welcome them into the broader life of our church!

Baptism Sunday and Church Picnic

Join us on Sunday, September 27, on the Great Lawn for a church-wide celebration and picnic as we cheer on our brothers and sisters in Christ, publicly affirming their faith through baptism. Bring your family, invite friends, and let’s celebrate together!

Middle School Retreat- Oct 9-11

Middle School students are invited to Highland Lakes Camp for a retreat—a weekend of fun and slowing down to be in awe of God and His creation. The hope of our retreat is to have students spend time investing in their relationship with God while building community and making fun memories with one another. Middle school retreat will begin 6pm on Friday 10/9; departure will be at 10am on Sunday 10/11. Drop-off and pickup will be at Highland Lakes Camp. The cost per student will be $150.

Student Friendsgiving

Friendsgiving is one of our favorite nights of the year! Students are invited to join us for an evening of great food, fun games, meaningful conversations, and community as we celebrate the season together.

Whether you’re new or you’ve been coming for a while, this is a great opportunity to invite a friend and experience the kind of community we’re building at Lakeway Church Student Ministry—a place where you can belong, build friendships, and grow in your faith.
